The core business of Stadtwerke Konstanz GmbH has always included energy- and water supply, as well as public transportation by bus (ÖPNV) and ferry (Constance-Meersburg). After the acquisition of Bodensee-Schiffsbetriebe GmbH (BSB) in 2003, ship transportation in Lake Constance and the ferry connection Friedrichshafen-Romanshorn were added to this.

In the same year, the Bädergesellschaft Konstanz mbH (BGK) was founded and responsibility taken on for the planning, construction and operation of Bodensee-Therme Konstanz (Lake Constance Thermal Spa) and further pool facilities in Constance.

Since 1998, the Katamaran-Reederei Bodensee GmbH & Co. KG has belonged to the company as a 50-percent subsidiary.

Stadtwerke Konstanz GmbH has a long tradition of active engagement for youth-work issues, social issues, environmental protection, culture and sports in the region.
