Electricity supply

Since 1908, we have been supplying electricity to the residents of Constance.
"According to the German law § 36 EnWG, a main energy supplier is the supplier who services the highest number of residential customers in a network area. Residential customers are end consumers who purchase the energy predominantly for their own purposes in their households or whose yearly consumption does not exceed 10,000 kilowatt hours for vocational, agricultural or commercial purposes."
In this sense, Stadtwerke Konstanz GmbH is the main supplier of electrical energy and gas for the regional network of Stadtwerke Konstanz GmbH.
Our supply area includes the Town of Constance with its suburbs Dettingen, Litzelstetten, Wallhausen, Dingelsdorf, Oberdorf and the Island of Mainau.
Since 01.01.2001, we have also been servicing customers outside of Constance with electricity. For an offer, please contact us.
We obtain our electricity predominantly from the Swiss energy supply company AXPO and the German wholesale market. We also use electricity produced by the landfill power plant "Dorfweiher", the solar energy produced from the roof of the waste disposal companies, and energy from smaller photovoltaic facilities in Constance. The electricity produced here flows into the town’s electrical grid.
